-
Users are not required to sign a contract. Use of the online publications constitutes agreement with these terms.
-
Users must be browsing from the IP addresses used for online registration. Valid IP addresses must not include those of publicly accessible proxy or cache servers.
-
Access is for a single library or campus ("the site", i.e. the same constituency of users served by each single subscription to the paper version at the institutional rate). Use by others at either geographically distinct or separately administered sites will require further subscriptions. For example universities with separate campuses, or administratively or geographically distinct units on the same campus with their own libraries, will need separate subscriptions for each unit where access is required.
-
Only "authorized local users" (employees, faculty, staff and students) at the site are entitled to access. This also includes visitors or members of the public accessing via terminals located on the site and under the control of the subscribing institution.
-
Remote access is permitted for authorized local users by means of an on-site password-protected secure proxy server.
-
Access to the electronic versions of the journals should be for the purposes of scholarly, research, educational or teaching use but not for selling on or any commercial exploitation.
-
Single copies of articles may be copied, downloaded, stored on a computer or printed out.
-
Users may not systematically copy, download or redistribute substantial numbers of articles. When compiling composite products (e.g. course packs) contact the publisher for permission and to obtain details of charges.
-
Articles may be forwarded to others at the site but no dissemination to individuals who are outside the site should take place. The electronic version may not be used for inter-library loan. Transmission of articles in an altered form is not allowed.
-
If we suspect that unauthorized activities may have taken place, we will, with your assistance, halt them. If we believe it necessary, we will terminate your electronic access in such circumstances.
-
All reasonable efforts should be made to ensure that members of the subscribing institution are aware of and abide by these conditions of use.
